InPost Digital Label: Do I Need to Print It?

If your Vinted order is going with InPost, you will not get a normal printed shipping label. You get a QR code instead, and whether you need to print anything at all depends on how you are sending the parcel. This guide explains what the InPost digital label is, when you can skip printing altogether, and how to get a clean 4×6 out of it if you do need one.

What the InPost digital label is

Vinted issues InPost orders as a digital label: a QR code plus a PDF, rather than a sticker you print and stick straight on. Open the sold order and you will find it alongside a set of printed instructions on the same page, which is part of why it looks messy if you print the sheet as-is.

Do you need to print an InPost label?

At most lockers, no. InPost is built around self-service lockers, so the usual flow is to open the app or Vinted order, tap the QR code, hold it up to the locker screen, and drop the parcel in once the door opens. Nothing gets printed and nothing needs to be stuck on the box.

So if you are asking “do I need to print a label for InPost”, the honest answer is: not if you are using a locker. This is the “InPost no label” route most sellers end up on once they realise it exists.

When you do need a printed label

You will still want a printed label if:

You would rather post at a staffed counter or ParcelShop that asks for one on the parcel.
You are labelling the box in advance, before you get to the locker, so you are not fumbling with a phone screen at the drop-off point.
Your locker screen will not scan the code and staff or a fallback slot ask for a printed version instead.

In any of these cases, print the InPost label rather than relying on the QR code alone.

Getting the InPost label onto a clean 4×6

The Vinted PDF is built for A4, with the label sitting underneath a block of instructions and sometimes printed sideways. Print that as-is on a 4×6 thermal printer and you either get the instructions along with the label, or the label rotated the wrong way.

Common problems

The locker will not scan my code. Turn your screen brightness up and hold the phone flat and close to the scanner. If you printed the code, make sure it was cropped to the label size rather than shrunk down with the rest of the A4 page.

I only see a PDF, no QR code on the order. Open the PDF. The code is on the page along with the label and instructions, it just is not always shown separately on the order screen.

The printed label comes out sideways. This is the instructions-and-rotation issue mentioned above. Crop My Label straightens InPost labels automatically, so print the cropped version rather than the raw PDF.

I want to label the parcel without visiting a locker first. Print the InPost label to a 4×6 in advance and stick it on, then either drop it at the locker or hand it in wherever InPost is accepted locally.

A note on privacy
