What Size Is a Vinted Label? 4×6, A4 and A6 Explained
Short answer: the shipping label itself is roughly 4×6 inches, which is 101.6 × 152.4 mm (usually rounded to 100 × 150 mm). The confusing part is that Vinted often gives you that label sitting on a much bigger page, so it does not print at the size you expect.
Label size vs page size
There are two sizes to think about:
- The label. The block with the barcode or QR code and the address. This is what the courier scans, and it is close to 4×6.
- The page. The PDF Vinted gives you. Often this is a full A4 sheet, with the label on part of it and instructions or white space around it.
When people say “my Vinted label is the wrong size”, they nearly always mean the page. Print the whole A4 page on a 4×6 label printer and the printer shrinks everything to fit, so the label comes out tiny.
Common sizes in mm
- 4×6 inches (Royal Mail calls it 6×4): 101.6 × 152.4 mm. The standard size for thermal label printers and rolls.
- A6: 105 × 148 mm. Used for some sticky labels and courier sheets.
- A4: 210 × 297 mm. Normal home printer paper, and the page many Vinted PDFs come on.
A6 and 4×6 are close but not identical. A6 is a few millimetres wider and a few shorter, so a 4×6 label printed on A6 stock needs a touch of scaling to fit.
What each courier gives you on Vinted
- Royal Mail: usually a QR code rather than an address label. Staff scan it and print the label for you, so there is often nothing to size at all. See the Royal Mail QR code label explained.
- Evri: a full label. Some Evri PDFs come as an A4 page, and newer ones arrive on a smaller page that is already close to 4×6. See how to print an Evri label from Vinted.
- InPost: an A4 page with drop-off instructions on the top half and the label below a cut line, often printed sideways. See the InPost digital label.
Because the layout changes from courier to courier, and Vinted changes it from time to time, there is no single fixed area you can always cut out.
How to print it at the right size
On a 4×6 thermal printer: crop the PDF to just the label first, then print at 4×6 with no margins. Crop My Label does the crop automatically in Chrome. It works out the courier, finds the label on the page, turns it upright and fits it to a clean 4×6.
On a normal A4 printer: you can print the page as it is and cut the label out, or crop it first to save ink. Our guide to printing a Vinted label on a normal printer covers both.
Either way, do not shrink the label below its normal size. Barcodes need to stay big enough to scan.
Quick answers
What size is a Vinted label in mm? About 100 × 150 mm (exactly 101.6 × 152.4 mm, which is 4×6 inches).
Is a Vinted label A6? Not quite. It is close to A6, but the standard thermal size is 4×6, which is a little narrower and a little longer.
Why does my Vinted label print so small? Your printer is shrinking the whole A4 page to fit the label. Crop the page to just the label first.
What labels should I buy for a thermal printer? 4×6 (100 × 150 mm) direct thermal labels are the standard. See the best label printer for Vinted.
