What Is svc-shipping-labels.s3.eu-central-1.amazonaws.com? (Vinted Label Link)

You click to print your Vinted label and the address bar shows something like svc-shipping-labels.s3.eu-central-1.amazonaws.com, followed by a very long string of letters and numbers. It does not say Vinted anywhere, so it is fair to wonder whether something has gone wrong. It has not. This is where Vinted keeps its shipping label files.

What the address means

Read it from the right:

  • amazonaws.com is Amazon Web Services, the cloud storage and hosting side of Amazon. A huge number of websites store files there.
  • eu-central-1 is the Amazon data centre region the file sits in, which is Frankfurt.
  • s3 is Amazon S3, Amazon’s file storage service.
  • svc-shipping-labels is the name of the storage area holding the labels.

So the label PDF is a file stored on Amazon’s servers, and your browser is simply opening it. Chrome shows it in its built-in PDF viewer, which is why the page looks plain and has no Vinted branding.

Is it safe?

If you got there by tapping print or download on an order inside the Vinted app or website, yes. That is the normal place Vinted’s label files open from.

Two sensible habits:

  • Only open labels from the order in Vinted. If a message or email sends you a “label” link, do not trust it. Go to the order yourself and open the label from there.
  • Do not share the link. Anyone who has it can open the label until it expires, and the label shows your buyer’s name and address.

The long string after the address is a temporary signature. It lets your browser open that one file for a short time, then it expires. If you come back to an old tab, or open a saved link later, you may see a page of code mentioning AccessDenied or Request has expired instead of your label.

Nothing is wrong with the order. Go back to the order in Vinted and open the label again, and you will get a fresh link. If you want to keep a copy, download the PDF while it is open.

Why label tools ask for access to it

Because Vinted labels open on this Amazon address rather than on vinted.co.uk, any tool that helps with your label needs permission to read that one address. Crop My Label asks for it so it can take the label from the tab you have open and crop it to 4×6. The cropping happens inside your browser, and the label is never uploaded anywhere. Our privacy policy covers this in full.

Quick answers

Is svc-shipping-labels.s3.eu-central-1.amazonaws.com a virus or a scam? No, not when you reached it from your Vinted order. It is Amazon storage that Vinted uses for label files.

Why does my Vinted label link say AccessDenied? The link has expired. Open the label again from the order in Vinted.

Can I bookmark my label link? It will stop working. Download the PDF instead.
