Vinted Royal Mail Tracking and Proof of Postage: What to Keep
You have dropped off your Vinted parcel and the tracking still says nothing. Usually that is normal, but it is worth knowing where tracking shows up, how long to wait, and what proof to keep in case something goes wrong.
Where to find the tracking
For Royal Mail orders, both you and the buyer can follow the parcel in the conversation screen for the order on Vinted. You can also check it on Royal Mail’s own website using the tracking number on the label or receipt.
Royal Mail says Vinted parcels sent with its Tracked 48 service should reach the buyer in 2 to 3 days.
Why tracking is not showing yet
Vinted says it can take up to 48 hours after you send a parcel for tracking to appear. Parcels are often scanned again when they reach a mail centre, so a quiet first day is not unusual. Parcels left in a locker on a Saturday afternoon may not be collected until Monday.

What counts as proof of postage
Vinted asks sellers to keep proof of shipping until the order is completed. Any of these work:
- The drop-off receipt from the Post Office or Royal Mail shop.
- The email confirmation, for example the receipt a Royal Mail parcel locker emails you if you enter your address on its screen. Royal Mail says this counts as basic evidence for a claim.
- A copy of the shipping label, such as a photo of it on the parcel.
Also take photos of the item and the packed parcel, inside and out, before you send it. Vinted recommends this, and it makes any damage or loss claim much easier.
If tracking has not appeared after 48 hours
Vinted’s help centre sets out what to do:
- On the conversation screen with the buyer, press “I confirm that I’ve sent this order”.
- If tracking still has not appeared a few days later, contact Vinted. Include photos of the parcel and its packaging with the label clearly visible, and your proof of shipping.
Do not leave it too long. Vinted says that if tracking does not appear within 4 business days of you pressing the confirmation button, the order is cancelled automatically, so get in touch before then.
Lost or damaged parcels
Vinted says it compensates sellers for lost or damaged Royal Mail parcels as long as they were packed properly. That is why the photos and receipt matter.
